Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Grundy County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a search signifies agreement. A person who does not accept them should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Grundy County Criminal History is private and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The resource points to record channels in Grundy County, Iowa. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of all government offices. It does not store official records, perform official checks, retrieve protected files, or submit paperwork.

Its role is to direct readers to the Grundy County sheriff, Iowa District Court, Iowa DPS/DCI repository, Iowa Sex Offender Registry, and outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if the visitor agrees not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated access tools
  • Stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass any person
  • Violate a federal, Iowa, or local law
  • Interfere with service or prevent others from using it
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked service may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Misuse may also violate law. Iowa Sex Offender Registry data is supplied for public-safety awareness under Iowa Code chapter 692A, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or discriminatory action against a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Grundy County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create a consumer report, credit report, or background-check product. Site or linked-tool data may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A regulated purpose requires the appropriate official or FCRA-compliant process. This site and its advertising tools are not substitutes.

5. No Legal Advice

Site material is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Iowa attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a specific situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, access limits, and Iowa expungement orders can change the public record. Gaps and delays are possible, and nothing here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, or state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government agencies, court portals, legal resources, and outside search providers that we do not control. Their terms, prices, availability, content, and data practices are their responsibility. Review the destination's rules before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Grundy County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, or distributing that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the site or reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from that visitor's use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Iowa law governs these terms, including applicable Iowa Code chapter 22 public-record and chapter 692 criminal-history distinctions. Any dispute connected with site use must be brought in an Iowa court with proper jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
