Why We Built This Site
Iowa offers several public record channels, but no single search produces every part of a Grundy County history. The sheriff keeps county-created incident, arrest, booking, jail, and warrant-execution material. The Clerk of District Court holds filed charges, docket events, dispositions, and official copies. Iowa DPS/DCI maintains the fingerprint-supported statewide repository. Corrections and registry records use separate state systems. The site organizes those boundaries so readers can choose the custodian that actually holds the requested record.
What You Will Find Here

- Record guides: ways to search and read criminal court, arrest, and registry information
- Official check details: how the Iowa DPS/DCI name-check request works and what release rules apply
- Record relief basics: Iowa expungement routes and the court where a qualifying filing begins
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of any Iowa court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its limits are firm:
- We do not issue certified court files, criminal histories, or other official copies
- We cannot submit an expungement petition, public-record request, or court form for a reader
- We do not run official record checks or retrieve a person's protected information
- We cannot interpret a charge, case, or Iowa law as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, hours, or process has not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Grundy County sheriff, the Clerk of District Court, or Iowa DPS/DCI. This private resource cannot certify or issue it.
Search Partners
Outside companies power some search boxes. Each provider controls its results, prices, service terms, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee for this site. The provider, not Grundy County Criminal History, determines what its search returns and what it costs.
